This lot comes from the Abaya Main Station in the area of Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia. The station sits at 1850–2000masl and processes cherries from 452 contributing farmers working a combined 639 hectares of land. An area is known for its cool temperatures, consistent rainfall, and nutrient-rich soil makes it ideal conditions for their heirloom varieties
After smallholder farmers deliver their ripe cherries the cherries are immediately hand-sorted. The best of the lot are then taken to sun dry on raised beds for approximately 21 days. Once the ideal moisture level is reached, the coffee is milled and prepared for export.
