The Guji-Uraga washing station is operated by Kuri Mountain Coffee, under the leadership of producer Habtamu Fekadu Aga. Established in 2015, the station is located in Koba, Uraga/Solomo district, within Ethiopia’s Guji Zone. It sits at an altitude of 2000 to 2250 meters above sea level and is surrounded by highland topography adjacent to Dimtu Ambella and Yirgacheffe. The station serves around 450 small-scale farmers across 500 hectares. The washed (or wet) processing method used at Guji-Uraga to produce this coffee involves mechanical mucilage removal, followed by soaking and drying. Coffee is sun-dried under shade on raised African beds for 11–13 days.
Guji is a renowned coffee-producing zone in southern Ethiopia, known for its rich loamy soil and ideal altitude for Arabica cultivation. Coffee from this region is celebrated for its vibrant acidity, floral notes, and complex flavor profiles.
